This is a day of recognition for the front line personnel in business. You only get one chance to make a good first impression, and the receptionist can make or break that. Receptionists may have other titles such as front desk personnel, operators, customer service representatives or information desk clerks.
The National Receptionists Association inaugurated this day of recognition to include anyone responsible for creating or maintaining a favorable image for the company. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are more than a million receptionists in the US.
