International Assistance Dog Week (IADW) was created to recognize all the devoted, hardworking assistance dogs helping individuals cope with any limitations placed on them by a physical or mental disability. Dogs can provide all types of tasks, and are often loving companions that bring out the best in their human owners.
The goals of IADW are to:
• Recognize and honor assistance dogs.
• Raise awareness and educate the public about assistance dogs.
• Honor puppy raisers and trainers.
• Recognize heroic deeds performed by assistance dogs in our communities.
Advertisers will be barking up the "right" tree when they capitalize on the number of canine-worthy events throughout the year. International Assistance Dog Week is just one of the many tie-in opportunities that can put more wag behind marketing dollars.
