Pet owners may not realize that pets can easily suffocate on common items, such as chip bags and plastics. National Pet Suffocation Awareness Week is an opportunity to educate the public about the risks of suffocation that abound in homes. Three-quarters of people who lost or almost lost a pet to suffocation were unaware of or had never realized the possibility that their pet could suffocate in a chip, snack, cereal, or other food bag until it happened!
