Chicken and waffles seem an unlikely pairing but the duo happens to be a sweet and savory match made in paradise. With origins in the rural South, chicken and waffles have slowly infiltrated the East and West coast to become a favorite among diners everywhere. No one is quite sure who was the first to put the food combination together, but it has roots in African American culture as well as among the Pennsylvania Dutch. National Chicken and Waffles Day was created in 2021 and is primed to be a popular celebration for years to come.
