Skyscrapers are architectural marvels, with relatively thin structures stretching thousands of feet into the air. Chicago's Home Life Building, completed in 1885, is typically considered to be the first modern skyscraper. Now most major metropolitan cities around the world have their own skyscrapers. One World Trade Center is the tallest skyscraper in the United States. First Canadian Place in Toronto, Canada is the tallest in that country, while Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world.
