Pecans are nuts native to the southern United States and pecan pie is a cherished Southern delicacy. There are many recipes for this dessert, but at the most basic pecans are mixed with eggs, butter and a type of sugar — usually corn syrup or molasses. While seen around the country in the autumn, especially in time or Thanksgiving, in the South pecan pie is available all the time. A slice is truly indulgent and sweet.
