October 6th - October 13th
This Hebrew calendar date begins the nine-day festival in commemoration of Jewish people's 40 years of wandering in the desert and thanksgiving for the fall harvest. Beginning five days after Yom Kippur, Sukkot is named after the booths or huts in which Jews are supposed to dwell during this week-long celebration.
