National Wildflower Week is a time "to encourage the observation, cultivation and study of native wildflowers". Wildflowers add beauty to their surroundings and can be enjoyed just as much as cultivated flowers. Because they are native to certain areas, they require less water and soil amendments, which can have a positive environmental effect.
