During Crime Prevention Month, individuals can commit to working on at least one of three levels—family, neighborhood or community—to drive violence, drugs, and other crimes from their lives. It is also a time to honor individuals who have accepted personal responsibility for their neighborhoods and groups who work for the community’s common good.
Though national crime rates continue to fall compared earlier decades, local area stats vary in individual categories, such as theft and personal property crimes. You can continue to make a difference in your community by publishing a National Crime Prevention Month section or pages both in print and on your Web site.
