National Volunteer Blood Donor Month draws attention to the importance of donating blood. Thousands of lives are saved when volunteers offer blood — a donation that doesn't take a long time, but impacts many. Above all other times of the year, January is the month that presents the most challenges in recruiting people to give blood and deserves the most publicity.
Did you know? It is estimate that 43,000 pints of donated blood are used each day in the U.S. and Canada. Someone is in need of blood every two seconds.
