Passover

April 12th - April 20th

Passover begins at sundown and lasts for eight days in the Jewish faith. It marks the celebration of the delivery of the Jews from slavery in Egypt. In Hebrew it is known as Pesach (which means "to pass over"), because God passed over the Jewish homes when killing the Egyptian firstborn on the very first Passover eve. Unleavened bread (matzoh) is frequently eaten at this time.

FOR 2021: This is one of the relatively rare years when the day before Passover falls on Shabbat.
