Adorable puppies and kittens are easily adoptable, but what about the many other pets out there that may be older or impaired? Oftentimes these animals spend more of their days in shelters awaiting forever homes rather than placed with families. Adopt a Less Adoptable Pet Week serves to give recognition to the pets that may have a medical illness, disability, deformity, or another condition that makes them less likely to be adopted right off the bat. However, these pets, with the right care, can still be wonderful companion animals.
