Canada: Maple Leaf Flag Adoption Anniversary, 1965

Canada's new national flag, a red-and-white background with a red maple leaf, was adopted on February 15, 1965. It was raised at Ottawa, Canada's capital on this day. It replaced a Red Ensign flag, which had the British Union Jack in the upper left-hand corner.
