The Everglades National Park is the largest subtropical area of wilderness in America. It provides important habitat for numerous rare and endangered species like the manatee, American crocodile, and the elusive Florida panther. The park is part of vast marshland area on southern Florida peninsula, and originally was authorized in May 30, 1934, and later established as a national park. Thousands of visitors are attracted to the Everglades to view the rare species and traverse the expansive marshlands.
