The phrase "Grand Ole Opry" was first uttered on the air on December 10, 1927. Along the way, The Opry helped launched countless country music careers and led the way for Nashville to become Music City. The Grand Ole Opry made its first radio broadcast from Nashville, TN.
Each Grand Ole Opry performance is made up of official Opry members and guest artists who together represent multiple generations of artists as well as the broad spectrum of country music styles.
