National Booch Day celebrates the widely popular, and purportedly quite healthy kombucha drink. Kombucha is a fermented beverage made from sweetened black or green tea and sometimes flavored with fruit juice and other ingredients. Lightly effervescent and marginally alcoholic, the beverage produces vinegar and b vitamins in the fermentation process. Proponents say that it may help with gut health, among other benefits.
