Brownies are one treat few people can resist. Depending upon the recipe, they can be fudgy or cake-like in texture. Some are all chocolate, while others are mixed with nuts or "marbled" with cream cheese. There's even a non-chocolate brownie that's called a "blondie." No one is quite sure where the brownie originated, but recipes for the rich dessert can be traced back to 1906. Today everyone seemingly has a favorite brownie recipe, and National Brownie Day is the perfect time to whip up a batch.
