National Peanut Butter Day celebrates one of the most famous foods in the United States. According to the National Peanut Board, peanut butter has existed since the Ancient Incas and the Aztecs. It is believed that they were the first people to transform roasted peanuts into a paste. The National Peanut Board lists three creators of peanut butter, Marcellus Gilmore Edson, Dr. John Harvey Kellogg, and Dr. Ambrose Straub. National Peanut Butter Day seems to have been created in 2012 as a promotion for peanut butter. It is observed annually on January 24th.
