Introduced to the United States during the 1964 World's Fair in New York City, sangria is a simple beverage to make from wine, fruit, orange juice, sugar, liquor, and ice. The recipe can be interpreted in many ways depending upon the ingredients used. While it may be thought of a summertime drink, varying the fruit and juice can help sangria be customized for other seasons. And since it's ideally served in a large pitcher or punch bowl, it's right at home at holiday celebrations.
