New Year's Eve marks the last evening of the Gregorian calendar year. It is traditionally a night for merrymaking to welcome in the New Year. People attend parties or invite friends and family members over, eagerly awaiting the countdown until midnight. Part of the festivities include making resolutions for the upcoming new year.
